A dramatic rescue occurred at Alvarado Lake on the July 4 holiday. An off-duty firefighter from Midlothian jumped into the lake to save three children who were trapped under an overturned boat.
The firefighter's swift action is credited with saving the children's lives. He was at the lake with his family at the time of the incident.
